TRANSLATION | EDITING & PROOFREADING
LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL ADVICE
» LEGAL AND BUSINESS TRANSLATIONS
The translation of administrative texts, business contracts, agreements, correspondence, and reports requires a sound knowledge of the business world. As a former PA to CEOs, I have a background experience of years in the business area. I have served as interpreter and also was responsible for the translation of this kind of texts and documents.
» MEDICAL: PSYCHOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE
Psychology and neuroscience are my other passion. Well aware that translations of these fields require specialized professionals, I devote a great part of time to research and ongoing education at national and international education centres.
I am also in contact with professional psychologists, psychiatrists, neuroscientists, and researchers, and translate some of their thoughts and findings. Some of these translations are produced as a sample in my blog thanks to the generosity and kindness of these professionals to share their knowledge.
» TEACHING AND EDUCATION
“Education should be a means to empower children and adults alike to become active participants in the transformation of their societies”.
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
Teaching and education are another research area of my interest. I am concerned with the role and importance of education in society but also about how do we teach. In this respect, I am very much inspired by the new findings in teaching methodologies, learning and creativity of Sir Ken Robinson, international advisor on education.
» TRANSLATIONS FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
One of my first translation jobs came from a non-profit back in 2004. They needed volunteer translators to help them translate their field repots. I like helping my community and I saw this would give me an opportunity to cooperate helping the most needy in the best way that I can. Some of the NGOs I have cooperated with are Plan International, Survival and the United Nations Rilief and Works Agency.
» LITERARY TRANSLATIONS (non-fiction books)
Proofreading of translations | Proofreading of Spanish texts
Sometimes we tend to underestimate the importance of writing correctly. A good and proper writing does not mean we are purist or pedantic, but instead shows that we are professionals and competent.
Even if our business has nothing to do with the translation or editorial world, a good and organized presentation of our company and products proves that we care –that we care about the service we offer from the very beginning to the very end and that we respect our clients.
